Hi all, I noticed that the “Kambrook” branded laptop in the front room isn’t in the catalogue, so I thought I’d add it in, but I can’t find anything online about it.
Does anyone know when this machine would have been made, was it a production model or just a prototype, and what were the specs?
There’s no serial number or other info on the back sticker. I’d guess late 1980s just from looking at it, and the PS/2 keyboard port implies it’s probably PC-compatible.
Very interesting challenge! I find Halikan machines, possibly sold in South Africa, they had a range of models one or two of which look like the same case design.
Auction here for model LA22, photo like this:
Brochure here has HALIKAN as a brand of Chaplet Systems of Taiwan. No mention of LA22, but LX2020/LX2002 looks very similar to yours:

I think you’ve got it! Looks pretty much the same, just rebadged.
I guess we can assume it’s a 286 or equivalent, made around 1990 or so.
Thanks to your help I was able to dig up a bit more info on Kambrook’s computer division, although it’s still pretty sparse.
AFR ran an article in 1991 about Kambrook selling PCs from a manufacturer called Miden: MIDEN, KAMBROOK GO FOR PC MARKET
I found an old ad scanned from the Canberra Times that mentions a Kambrook PC, but it’s a desktop with a monitor rather than a laptop:
A different Kambrook/Chaplet laptop is featured in Australian Personal Computer, November 1990
Another scanned publication from 1989 mentions “Kambrook Goldstar” Buyers' Guide To Hardware (1989 Australia) - 320 pages [OCR TEXT]
Goldstar later became LG, so I guess Kambrook was importing LG computers or accessories as well.

@amagni Always best to put in the Catalogue and then start the conversation from the Catalog it Entry- then it links the two together
