A major BGP /DNS fault and internal systems failure currently means Facebook and related services have been down pretty much globally for four hours, right as negative press goes to air about Facebook being aware of negative impacts on some of its key users and it’s involvement in fueling fake news and the spread of misinformation.
The amount of control one company now holds on communications channels globally and the way the flow of information is distorted is troubling to say the least.
I’m glad to have this completely independent platform to be able to contribute to and store my retro computing chatter without the barrage of ads and manipulated importance of what I see and when I see it.
