Today while reading The Sizzle, I ended up on decrytion’s blog, where I got to reading issue 1 of Australian Net Guide magazine (March 1996). There I learnt about Australian-made graphics cards (Legend brand). Looking up the URLs given in the ad lead to Internet Archive captures of the corporate website where they promote their Australian design and manufacturing capabilities.
LEGEND is a wholly Australian owned designer, manufacturer and exporter of components for the information Technology Industry focusing on memory modules, video accelerators and system mainboards.
Established in 1989 LEGEND now has manufacture operations and Head Office in Adelaide, South Australia. Currently Australian staff number 46. LEGEND maintains Australian stocked sales offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
I also found a video card (LEGEND 3DV+ PCI VGA for PC) for sale on eBay with Assembled in Australia silk screened on the PCB
