Atari BASIC FujiNet Weather Station – May Subscriber Release

Hello fellow Atarians,

If you’ve been following along, I’ve been showing off my Atari BASIC FujiNet Weather Station project for the Atari 8-bit. Earlier versions needed a little more help from the PC side, but the latest version is much closer to the idea I had from the start.

My original idea was with Atari 8-bit computer, 48K of memory, a FujiNet, and an Atari BASIC program, your Atari can act like a small weather station. Pulling live weather data, to keep you informed and guess what it even gets the time from the FujiNet clock. I honestly believe that our Ataris are happiest when they do work for us so here is a chance to do just that, give them a job.

You can track your town weather, or check another city, or even set it for somewhere you plan to visit. We have tested it on Atari 800, Atari 600XL, 800XL and an 130XE system (with 48K or more).

This one stretched my brain a bit, but it was also a lot of fun. This showed me that Atari BASIC pulls thru when we give it a purpose in life.
