Just to let you know I spent a bit of time working with the AtariLab this past month. It really a fascinating device, and I still wonder why I waited so long before getting one. In the article Bringing AtariLab Back to Life, you will be able to read about my journey through the how, what, and why of finding one, setting mine up, and finally putting my unit to work.
I also found in the newsletter archives an interesting article about what really happens when you press a key on the Atari. So, put on your propeller cap… you will need it for this one. It is an interesting read though.
Jerry White created a demo for the XL line of computers a couple of years back and has allowed me to take his program apart and explain it. How do you use the console keys? How can you slow down a BASIC listing so you can actually read it? These are a few of the answers you will find in the article Poking Around Jerry White’s XLDEMO.BAS, Part 1.
And don’t forget our continuing series on The 400 Mini Series. How we can us it better and how we can use more of it. Also I found a book review on a great book, one I even have in my collection, check it out I still use it after all these years.
Michael Dever returns with Pythagoras’ Garden and LOGO, showing another way LOGO can become part of a real project. Wade Ripkowski is also back with Action! Who Are You Pointing At?!, an article about using pointers in ACTION! It is a good read, if you are looking at stepping up from BASIC you probably should look at all of Wades articles so you can step up your programs.
