Formatting Drives on an SGI Iris Indigo from CD

If you are restoring an SGI Iris Inidgo R2000A or R3000, this may assist.

Ensure your new blank boot volume is set to SCSI ID 1

  1. Drop into option 5
  2. Run the command “boot -f dksc(0,3,8)sashIP12 dksc(0,3,7)stand/fx.IP12 —x”
  3. You should now be able to format drives.

Please note, replace 3 with your CD Rom or emulators SCSI ID with the Irix 5.3 ISO.
